Hey guys!

Just another reminder that ASU is having our 6th and FINAL General Meeting for this semester! We will be having our Holiday Potluck on Wednesday, Nov. 30th @ 6PM in the ISSI (on the 4th floor of the Ell Hall). And I see that not many people have signed up to bring food! Please please please sign up (real meals, chips, candy, and dessert, and drinks are welcomed) SPREAD SHEET <-- Click! It would be great if some of you sign up to bring the utensils, plates, and cups too!

I would also like to remind you that we are playing Yankee Swap. Bring something if you want to play! Min is $5 and max is $10!

And also if you have any toys (clean and like-new) that you would like to bring it for the NU American Red Cross LIFT Community Toy Drive that would be great!

ASU Husky Hunt and Assassins information!

Hey guys,

Sorry for another email, but there's just alot of events that are coming up!

Assassins

This will be an ongoing event where you will attempt to eliminate your targets until you're the last one standing. There will be various challenges, missions, and twists. If you are interested, there will be a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 7pm @ Curry 433 AFTER the ASU General Meeting! I highly encourage you come to the general meeting before it though!

We'll fill you in on all the rules and also take your pictures which will be needed for the game. If you want to just send in a picture instead of taking one at the meeting, please just email us with your name!

Husky Hunt

Husky Hunt is a 24 Hour Scavenger Hunt run by the RSA that is all over Boston. It will run November 4th, 2011 8pm - November 5th, 2011 8pm. There will be 50 teams of twelve competing.There are challenges to do, and riddles that lead to various places all over Boston. On October 24, 2011, there will be an online quiz which will determine which 50 teams will get in. It will be open for 24 hours and the teams with the most riddles answered in the shortest amount of time will get in. Only register to be on the team if: A) You are willing to give your all B) Good at riddles/Running around Boston C) Willing to stay up 24/7! D) Wanna have fun!

ASU Kayaking & Volunteering!

Hey guys!

Thanks for coming to our first meeting of the year!

We would like to remind you that kayaking will be this Upcoming Saturday, Sept. 17th! We will be meeting that the Marino Center at 1PM. We will only wait there until 1:15PM. Be there or be square! Please remember to bring at least $10 if you are planning to share a boat. If you want an individual boat the cost may be more than $20. Here's the website of the place we're going. If you haven't signed up and want to go, let us know!

ASU will also be Volunteering @ Hub on Wheels on Sunday, Sept 25th. The time is currently tentative. Many of you seemed unclear on what the event is. Here is a link to the event's website. In short, it is a fundraiser to "create an important civic event, showcase Boston's neighborhoods and parks, and raise money for important causes." We'd we aiding the bikers who are fundraising by passing out food, cheering them on, etc. If you sign up by Saturday 9PM, we'll update you on exactly what time volunteering will be, and you can back out if it doesn't work for you.

Just a reminder! For those involved with ASU's Celebr(asian) script/filming we'll be starting to film tomorrow! The ninja and samurai scene will not be filmed yet but we are still planning to do the other scenes so please make it!

We'll be meeting in front of the Ballroom at 7:45pm to prepare and start filming asap!!! If you know you are part of the script and you absolutely cannot make it please let one of the e-boarders know!

Have you been wanting to give back to the community or do something charitable, but you're not sure what you can do?

No worries!

There will be a Bone Marrow Drive this Saturday on February 26 in Chinatown.

The drive will be held from 12pm to 5pm at 885 Washington St., right off the New England Medical Center Orange Line T Stop.

Please come drop by, make new friends, and possible donate to SAVE LIVES <3

Hey everyone!

ASU & the AAC brings you our:

ICE SKATING trip

Friday, Feb. 18th @ 6:30pm.

We're also going to eat at Pho Pasteur afterwards.

Cost: $4 entrance fee + $8 skate rental

But wait! The AAC is covering the first 25 people's ice skate rental fees ($8).

We hope everyone had an enjoyable Lunar New Years celebration spending time with family and hanging with friends. This week ASU will be holding a general meeting with UTSAV this Wednesday February 9th, at 6pm in room 448 CSC. It'll be a great opportunity to learn and play jeopardy with another PAAC group! ALSO, don't forget ASU will have our own block of ice for the annual ice carving competition. Look below!

ASU goes Snowboarding!

Yo Everyone!

As many of you know, we plan to take a snowboarding trip to Pat's Peak on Saturday, February 12th.

There will be a bus that departs from Ruggles Stations at 12:30PM and will arrive at Pat's Peak at around 2:15PM. The bus leaves Pat's Peak at 10:30PM, so that leaves us a good 7 hours to snowboard :) The 2-way bus ticket, lift tickets, and rental fees are all just $59!

If you have signed up or are interested in signing up, please meet with us in Curry 448, Wednesday, February 2nd from 6:00PM - 6:20PM. We will be collecting the $59 then.

Don't have the money yet? Don't worry, just come to the meeting and we'll tell you what you can do before the trip. If you cannot make the meeting, but are interested in going then just shoot us an email.

Note: This is NOT a General Meeting. Just those who are interested in snowboarding please come.

It's a new year and a new semester and unfortunately the end of our winter break. We hope everyone had a lovely time and spend as much time relaxing as they could because we'll be getting right back on track. We have many things to discuss and tell you about so we'll be having our First GeneralMeeting of the year TOMORROW (Wednesday January 12th, 2011) at the ISSI lounge 4th floor of Ell Hall 6pm! HalloweenFest Volunteering

What: A Halloween extravaganza with trick-or-treating, giveaways, performances, and much more.

Time: Saturday, October 23rd, 12:00PM - 5:00PM

Place: The Shops at Prudential Center (will walk there together)

Deadline to Signup: Saturday, October 9th, 8:00PM (Email us!)

MISC: A flyer for HalloweenFest is attached.

Assassin

What: An ongoing activity where you are given a target (another person) and must "assassinate" that target.

Time: Wednesday, October 20th, 7:00PM - Whenever the last person is left. (Expected to last a few days)

Place: Northeastern Campus

Deadline to Signup: Friday, October 15th, 11:59PM (Email us!)

MISC: If you are playing or would like to sign up, please reply with your name so we can send out the rules. If you didn't take a photo last meeting, you can send in a photo of yourself, that looks like you. Or you can meet Karen and Cung next Wednesday, October 13th, 5:00PM - 5:40PM in the Curry Student Centeroutside the Ballroom (2nd floor) and we will take one.

HEY EVERYONE!

We hope your week is going well but don't forget! There is going to be an Asian Student Union general meeting TONIGHT, (Wednesday) at 6pm in room 448 of the Curry Student Center. We'll be exploring the wonders of Mongolia and doing some fun activities!

Also, for those who are interested, Asian Student Union will be having a group outing October 2nd at 3pm. We will be kayaking at the Charles River. The cost for each person will be 15-20$ at most so contact us if you're interested in going!

Light the Night

Hey everyone, hope you all had a great summer! Welcome (or welcome back) to Northeastern! We have an awesome event planned for Welcome Week in collaboration with Barkada called "Light the Night"!

It will be at AfterHours located at the Starbucks in the Curry Student Center and it'll be at 8pm-12pm on Wednesday, September 8, 2010.

"“Light the Night” is a mixer that will be held during Welcome Week. During the event current and prospective members of ASU and Barkada will have the opportunity to meet and mingle. The students will be able to decorate t-shirts with different colored markers. Glow-in-the dark sticks, bracelets and necklaces will be given to each attendee.

Attendees will learn more about Asian-American culture and Filipino culture, meet the executive boards of the two organizations, and discover more about the upcoming events involving the two organizations."
